A carefully crafted, but also thought-provoking and predictable, James Cameron’s high-sea bag from 1989 confirms one of the film’s earliest principles: everything moves much more slowly underwater. Ed Harris and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, formerly married oil engineers who still have some “things” to discover, were designed to assist the troop’s marine SEAL (Michael Biehn) in a top secret recovery operation: a nuclear weapon that was ambushed and submerged in mysterious conditions in some countries . Petro Technologies is the only underwater vessel capable of diving to date. All the photos and presentations are meticulously sharp and detailed (and the computerized aquatic animals are wonderful), but the film’s violent rhythm is ultimately deadly. It’s an audience that feels watery. For a guy who likes guns as much as Cameron (after all, his next movie was a masterpiece in Terminator 2: Judgment Day), it is interesting that the moral balance here is strongly emphasized in favor of those who practice; military types are just amorous, as are the new foreign government bureaucrats.

This is the only true amorphous version of Abyss with a wide screen ever released, literally all other versionsin the region bounded by a black stack and therefore, with a very low resolution, other versions in the region also had parts of the film, which adds another 28 minutes to the film.

This version of ReEncoded is completely uncut and for the first time a real widescreen screen.
